About Wallflower

… & tell me the checkered tall story of all things in bloom …

James Reiss, Lily

Wallflower was established in 2005 as a boutique florist, to cater for the demands of a growing clientele who desired a bespoke florist to supply flowers that are always fresh, always beautiful, and selected and designed specifically for them.

It is directed by designer Sarah Scott, who has a background as an art gallery curator and 22 years experience in the floral industry.

Wallflower now has clientele ranging from theatres to vineyards. It is a popular fixture in the wedding market, catering for international and local brides. It offers same day bouquet delivery, and a range of gift hampers for corporate gestures or personal gift-giving, containing French products and fresh flowers.

Sarah elaborates ….

… I love all things floral, and it was a natural extension of my experience in the art industry to later train under top florists here and in the UK and begin to design using fresh flowers.

I am inspired by faded grandeur, the intricacy & beauty of flowers, crystal chandeliers reflected in mirrors, weathered suitcases & peeling sculpted cherubs. Designing for wallflower is my passion; translating the vision of clients into a reality my speciality .

As a very little girl my favourite spot was sitting in my grandparents garden, looking up at the giant rose blooms, and I could very often be found dawdling home from school collecting wild flowers and leaves from the side of the road, or playing hide-and-seek amongst the sky-blue hydrangeas in my great-grandmother’s wonderful seaside garden.

Not much has changed! Now a married woman with two small children of my own, I am still at my happiest amassing glorious blooms from the bustling early morning flower markets for the needs of brides and clients. There is nothing more exciting than finding unexpected delights such as big-headed roses, spriggy old-world hydrangea, berries on the vine, velvet-tipped celosia and blossom branches all in the exact shade of perfect faded pink or creamy whites & greens.

Then there is the thrill of arranging the bundles of fresh blooms & lush foliages into antique china or slick modern glassware, or wrapping generously in oversized crisp white paper with vintage wallpaper lining and tying with French ribbon.

Of course the piece de la resistance is the recipient’s delight when she luxuriates in the mass of fresh seasonal blooms that have been specifically chosen and arranged for her……
